About Help Booster

The original HelpBooster.com launched in June 2003.  It was designed to help two kinds of people.  Those who needed more specific or time consuming help than could be provided on discussion boards online, and those who wanted to help these people.

The idea was to facilitate bringing these two types of people together, with those doing the helping being offered a reward in the form of money or accommodation.  The reward needed to be specified at the time of the “mission” being posted.

Once a “mission” was posted, people willing to help could apply for it. They could also propose to undertake the mission for a reward at a price either lower or higher than the original proposal. The person who posted the mission and the applicants who applied for it, were able to exchange messages without disclosing their email address.

After having considered the different offers and the profiles of the applicants, the successful applicant would be chosen.

Participants were required to rate and comment on success of the outcome.

Success in this type of endeavor, depends largely upon the character of the individuals involved.  It requires integrity, trust and common sense.  People who volunteer to help others are those who have developed leadership skills such as motivation, self esteem, and confidence.  They are able to pass on the foster the growth of these attributes in others.
